Selank
A synthetic heptapeptide analogue of tuftsin with anxiolytic and nootropic properties, developed at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Mechanism of Action
Selank modulates the balance of T-helper cell cytokines, enhances IL-6 expression, stabilizes enkephalins by inhibiting their enzymatic degradation, and modulates GABA-A receptor subunit expression. Its anxiolytic effects arise from serotonergic modulation and BDNF upregulation without sedation or cognitive impairment.

Dosage Range
Intranasal research doses: 250-500 mcg/day. Subcutaneous: 100-300 mcg/day.
Reconstitution
Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water. For a 5 mg vial, add 2 mL BAC water for 2.5 mg/mL.
Storage
Store lyophilized at -20C. Reconstituted at 2-8C, use within 21 days.
Half-Life
Approximately 3-5 minutes in plasma; however, anxiolytic effects persist for several hours.
